Distinguish between primary and secondary roads

I have selected a OSM-primary road ("Bundesstrasse" in Germany) and a OSM-secondary road ("Landesstrasse" in Germany). Both show "main road" as road type. I would like to distinguish between those two, to easily recognize if the planned route is on a primary or secondary road. Usually for me it's comfortable to ride on a secondary road, but want to avoid the primary roads under all circumstances. So it would be really helpful.
